This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the UN Genocide Convention. This symposium will address issues including the contentious history of the adoption of the Genocide Convention by the U.S.; the shifting role of the Holocaust in public and political discourse, including the question of the Holocaust’s uniqueness, and; what the past has failed to teach us about the possibilities of prevention and intervention in acts of genocide.
