Fall & Spring Classes

For all adult learners curious to start learning or continue studying Yiddish, YIVO offers multiple levels of proficiency, from complete beginner to highly advanced. Select a beginner, intermediate, or advanced class at a level that is right for you. Or, focus on speaking in Yiddish with a conversational Yiddish class, or just learn to read and write in Yiddish.

In addition, YIVO offers classes on Jewish history, literature, and culture. Enroll in seminars & electives conducted in English and seminars & electives conducted in Yiddish. This fall, YIVO is also offering a free mini-course in collaboration with POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

Classes are held either live, online on Zoom, or in person at YIVO in New York City. All classes are capped at about 15 students to maintain intimate classroom environments, with the exception of the mini-course, which is uncapped.
